"Cold cold empty void", "Grandma's food for worms now". Atheist hymns, by Jamie R.

Glad you started this. Not that I can contribute, but I can always learn.

I remember a time, back in the late 90s, when I thought nonsense like this mattered somewhat more than I do now. Now I see well-educated people yammering about the birth control choices of their daughters, or gay marriage, and I think they are morons.

So I was mulling this the other day, and came up with Ronald Reagan, Eddie Albert, and Kate Hepburn. Was meandering around IMDB today and noted that Jane Wyman was making movies in the 30s, too.

Anyone else? (this is a quickie thread, just thought it'd be fun).

Well, let's see...Ginger Rogers is dead, isn't she?

I was just thinking about Ginger. I can remember seeing pictures of her recently, but that doesn't mean anything.

Gregory Peck? Is he old enough to rate?

Peck didn't start until the 40s. I'll probably eventually start a list in order of first movie (g) and then we can get into the40s. Ginger is dead. Myrna Loy is dead (died much more recently).

Oh, I just thought of someone--Ann Miller. She's actually quite young (relatively), because she became a star in her teens.

Considering my parents are 70, and were born in 32, it is kind of amazing that anybody that was a star during that decade (especially if not child stars) are still kicking.

Mickey Rooney?

Hey, both are good. Also Shirley Temple, come to think of it. Possibly Jane Anne Withers.

Didn't jackie cooper die relatively recently?

Don't think so, I'll check. (runs off)

Nope, still kicking.

Oh, good ones both.

I was about to say Hedy Lamarr, but she died last year, didn't she?

I wonder if we can count Robert Blake. I think he just nosed into Our Gang comedies in the 30's.

If we're counting Blake, get him in there fast.

She's in the 40s, I think--her first movie was To Have and Have Not. But she's up their with Peck as a 40s star--not too many of them alive, either.

We had Lillian Gish for a hell of a long time, and she was making movies in the teens. Ditto Helen Hayes, who was a theater star very early on.
