Yes, Lime is just testing. There isn't anything in them.
The thing that makes me happy is that I vacuumed for the first time in forever. I love my vacuum cleaner; I know that it's weird, but it is quiet and cleans carpets well.
Oh, I'm glad you started this topic--I neeeed this topic.
My apartment is completely trashed right now. We brought back a van load and a pickup load of boxes from our house when we cleared it out and we have to find places to put them.
Actually, it was a stunning snippet from my English paper on the struggles and sacrifices of Lady Galadriel, from LotR.
But not worth following it around to the 14 different threads I moved it from. <g>
I was thinking last week that I have enough stuff. I do not presently want any new cookware, which is my usual overindulgence. I threw away and gave away a whole bunch of things over the last year and have made an effort to organize what's left. I have some things in the garage that I'm giving to our sitter when she moves into a student apartment with some friends in the fall. I've made both girls go through their rooms and throw things away or donate them or what have you. So I was all happy with the amount of stuff that I have. Why, then, am I looking on eBay tonight at all the neat stuff I could start collecting?
You know, there was a commercial about a decade ago, about how you could use Rubbermaid, I think, containers for storage. You had this family of four, saying, "We have too much stuff." and then they've fixed it all with rubbermaid storage.
So it ends with them looking at each other in realization. "We need more stuff!"
That runs through my head far more than it should, given it wasn't that great a commercial.
I think we have finished with the laundry. Can I wash their athletic shoes in the machine and let them air dry with newspapers stuffed inside?
I'm pissed at my husband because he refuses to get with the program. I bought a laundromat laundry cart a couple of months ago (Maria Gleason was going to buy one at the same time; I wonder whether she did) and the excellent idea is to fold the clothes right into it from the dryer, then roll it to each room or closet where the clothes go and drop them off. Instead of doing that, he's taking loads of clothes out of the washer and dumping them on various beds throughout the house. I asked him why and he said because the other beds were too cluttered. I may have to kill him. But I can probably get another husband on eBay.
Yes, you can wash shoes.
He's dumping wet clothes on beds? Or do you mean dryer?
Spawn does his own laundry at least half the time. He hangs up his shirts right from the washer and let's them airdry. That works well and eliminates the folding problem.
Yes, you really might have to kill him, I certainly would. My dream house is going to have a huge walkin closet with a washer and dryer that is directly accessible from all the bathrooms. I am going to do the laundry and fold it straight from the dryer and put it away right there in that same room and then when one gets out of the shower one scampers into that room to grab clothes and/or get dressed and there will be no bureaus in any of the bedrooms and no piles of clean folded laundry to gradually get diluted with the dirty laundy til you can't tell which is which anymore but it doesn't matter anyway because the cat has started sleeping in them and shedding all over the clean clothes. Barring that one of those big rolly laundry carts is the best solution in the world.
Not wet laundry. I changed it to dryer. But still. I'm being thwarted, and I don't like it.
I am making them put away their own laundry, but I'm washing it because I want it to a) get clean and b) get done.
Debby, the rolling cart is la bomba. I don't know why husband cannot see that. I have been planning for years to get one, but you can't just go into a store and buy one. Then I realized I could probably get it on the internet. And yea, it was so.
You know, I've been saying for 6 months now that I really have to go through and clear out the junk from my closet, the linen press and the cupboard under the kitchen sink. Maybe next week.
I did clean out the freezer the other day. One of the packages (either stew or minestrone, I couldn't identify which) was from October 99.
A "linen press" should have a tweeny to clean it out, no?
I clean mine once a year whether it needs it or not.
Hey, my grin in angle brackets did not appear, dammit. I might have to do a smiley. The linen closet remark was meant to be sarcastic.
There is a gorgeous antique linen press in the consignment shop across the street that I have been coveting for a few months now, I want to put art supplies in it but the consort is adament it is not coming in to the house. I just love the name of it.
Toys.
Grin in angle brackets: <g>
