Maggie loves Harry Potter and Homeward Bound. Also loves Shirley Temple movies, god help me (I have my mother to "thank" for that).
OMG, my mother sent Jordan some Shirley Temple movies, too!!
I haven't seen Incredible Journey. I'll have to see if they have that at the video store. You know, they didn't have the original Muppet Movie yesterday and the guy working there (my age) didn't know one existed. (boggle).
In the first movie, it was Don Ameche. Second was Ralph Waite.
I vividly remember seeing the first Incredible Journey, back when I was six, and crying and crying. I still tear up when the old dog comes over the hill.
My two (I am hereby christening them Snoopy and Woodstock for online purposes -- you read it here first) watched some twenty minutes of Jurassic Park 3 tonight and thought the dinosaurs were hilarious, especially when munching on Mr. Noodle from Sesame Street. What kind of cold-blooded, violence-indifferent kids am I raising?
I was annoyed when the ex took Spawn to see the first JP, but he thought it was very good. I don't know about hilarious, though. What sort of cold-blooded violence-indifferent kids are you raising?
I was watching to see if Jordan was going to be scared by Fluffy, the three-headed dog, in Harry Potter, but she just thought he was A-OK. Not scary at all. I do think the dinosaurs in JP would scare her. She's, at this very moment, asking me to take her to Scooby Doo. I just don't think so.

Max was too scared when we first got it, when he was just 4, but we are just coming out of a 3 or 4 week obsession with 'Dinosaurs,' from that Pixar Lucas company I can't remember the name of. Very great special effects, nice plot line, even the 1,238th time.
When Max was pre-schooler age it scared him, but he's generally on the wimpy side (although that appears to be changing.)
Just before I left 'Atlantis' arrived, I hear tell it's the latest obsession chez G.
I took Nathan to see Scooby Doo. We went to get skittles during the intense monsters show up at the hotel scene, but other than that he was fine. He still ikes the cartoon better.
Haven't done Harry Potter with him, though he certainly recognized the trailer for the 2nd one at SD. I'm sure he'd be fine with the movie but... I'd rather wait 'til he's a little older so I can read the books with him first. They're magical for me, and I'm hoping they will be for him (and Sophie) too.
Kristina, we did it the other way around -- Maggie saw Harry Potter (and we bought it so she's seen it several times), then we were over at my brother's house she saw my neice's copy of the book, asked what it was, and I told her. She said she wanted me to read it to her, so we're reading it in little chunks -- from a few to several pages, depending on where a logical break happens. I don't think she could have followed the book as well if she didn't already know who the characters were, etc.
Today when I insisted that Maggie wear pants instead of a dress to the park, she wailed "But I'll be the laughing stock of the neighborhood!!" Where she got it, I'll never know.
We just rented Harry Potter. This is my first intro to it. I've seen it a couple of times already - mostly because it was the most kid friendly movie we rented.
She's a little young still. But, she watched it in nippets.
You haven't introduced her to Star Trek yet? What sort of geek mom are you?

She's already seen
Kaaaaaaaaaaaahn and a number of next generation, and I think a few other of the star trek movies.
Plus, she's seen all the star wars.
Ha ha ha ha ha! I can just hear Kirk saying it exactly that way. I love that movie.
