I haven't watched it at all. Have I missed anything? I read that some Asian girl suffered a wardrobe malfunction in one of the figure skating competitions.
I don't understand ice skating anymore, at least the whole team event thing.
I didn't realize that the Shani Davis they were talking about who had made a fuss about the flag was the speedskater. Man, that's bullshit. He should have gotten to carry it in, even if he shouldn't have made the fuss.
I like speed skating. I guess there's no reason why it *should* catch on, but really, swimming is popular and this is just a variant of that.
The guys sounds like a complete asshole. He lost a coin flip to another deserving athlete. He needs to get over it.
Generally speaking, senior Olympian carries the flag. Davis trumps Hamlin in both number of Olympics qualified for and medals won.
And from a career perspective, it's not even close.
THis was chick catering, and while it's tedious that Davis goes to race whining, he's right that he was snubbed. It shouldn't have been a tie.
Yeah, he's an asshole, but that's never been disqualifying before now.
The sources I read said the US flag bearer is typically voted on. Even if the vote generally goes to the senior Olympian on the team, the fact that there is a vote means it's not certain.
Besides, I'm not sure what "senior" means in a case where both debuted in the 2006 Olympics, even if Davis's premiere was more successful than Hamlin's.
